BFT (Blue Fin Tuna) Season 2018 - Updates - 18.05.2018


The Blue Fin Season (BFT) 2018 continued with Italian vessels towing cages working for Maltese Tuna Ranches.

From 0727 - 1600 hrs the 1995 built Italian flag 28.10 metres stern trawler  BARTOLOMEO ASARO with fishing number MV 371 was at Valletta. Then she proceeded south to Marsaxlokk harbour to tow a cage bound to the Tyrrhenian Sea.








From 0829 - 1641 hrs the 1968 built Italian flag 32.31 metres stern trawler GIULIA P.G. with fishing number MV 378 was at Valletta. Then she proceeded south to Marsaxlokk harbour to tow a cage bound to the Tyrrhenian Sea.











At 0928 hrs the 2008 built Italian flag 28.82 metres stern trawler END with fishing number PA 1352 entered Valletta chartered by Mareblu Tuna Ranch berthing at Magazine Wharf. 




At 1645 hrs the 1976 built Maltese flag workboat ROSARIA TUNA with fishing number MFD 8511 left Valletta towing a new cage that was lowered from MMH. 













Meanwhile the below trawlers left AJD SPB Tuna Ranch engaged in towing -

i) The 1991 built Italian flag 29.23 metres stern trawler CLAUDIA PINA with fishing number MV 1182 left. She's the former AGOSTINO PADRE SECONDO until 2015. 


ii) The 2000 built Italian flag 28.45 metres stern trawler VINCENZO PADRE with fishing number PO 701 left. She's the former VINCENZO PADRE B until 2016 and PATRIZIA until 2008.






iii) The 2001 built Italian flag 26.31 metres stern trawler ANTARTIDE with fishing number MV 361 left. She's the former LUNA ROSSA until 2017. 


iv) The 2005 built Italian flag 21.10 metres stern trawler EDERA FALZONE with fishing number PE 1295 left. She's the former MARIA ANTONIO until 2012. 

v) The 1998 built Italian flag 22.00 metres stern trawler CARMELA E SALVATORE C with fishing number PE 1243 left.

Last Voyage - SEVEN OSPREY at Malta - 05.01 - 17.02.2018. The 1984 built LBR flag diving and light construction  vessel SEVEN OSPREY  left Valletta (Grand Harbour), Malta on Saturday 17th February, 2018 from Bormla Wharf at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd after she entered Valletta on Friday 5th January berthing at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub (MMH) and shifted to Palumbo on Saturday 6th January.
