YACHTING - CONVERSION OF SAN GENNARO  In 1964 a 29 meter Benetti tugboat named as SAN GENNARO was built and during 2005 a conversion started at Ortona Navi Shipyard for the conversion of a tug into a luxury yacht. The project of Lenci Marine has foreseen the total renewal of the superstructures that have been extended, to the Ponte di Coperta to create a living room, the dining room and the kitchen; on the upper deck a large wheelhouse has been built and the owner's cabin, below deck, have been obtained three guest cabins and a laundry. The crew is housed in two double cabins aft of the Machine Room. The interior furnishings are entirely in teak as well as the deck covering of the three decks. The conversion involved a total overhaul work in which all the systems were redone again and the engine room completely overhauled, allowing to keep the original engine, a MAN of 1051 horsepower with 360 rpm engine. Yachting -  NOORDERZON at Malta - 2017/2018. The 2012 built NLD flag converted expedition motor yacht NOORDERZON left Marsamxett Harbour from Manoel Island Marina on Friday 16th February 2018 at 0656 hrs (0556 UTC) to Barcellona, Spain. She entered last year on the 23rd August 2017 as LARS. She was built as a tug named ZEELEEUW by Damen, Netherlands of which never worked as a tug and refitted/converted the same year.  Below images are of her as LARS moored at Manoel Island Marina And the below as NOORDERZON  Photos by Capt. BLOW FROM THE PAST - KOMMANDOR JACK at Malta KOMMANDOR JACK  was built in 1961 at Bremerhaven (Germany) by Weser AG as the fishing trawler VIKINGBANK until 1970. In 1976 she was converted into a research vessel and renamed VALDIVIA and  was used as a research diving support vessel jointly by the Institut fur Meereskunde,Hamburg and the Goefysik Institute,Bergen, to train physical oceanography students in marine fieldwork.  Since July 1999 she has been owned by  Hays Ships Ltd, UK  as a commercial survey vessel and renamed her as KOMMANDOR JACK with imo 5380376. SILVER CLOUD leaving Malta after conversion - 27.10.2017. The 1994 built BHS flag cruise liner SILVER CLOUD left Valletta, Malta bound to Las Palmas after she was converted to an ice class expedition ship . She entered Valletta bound to Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd Dock 4 stern first during the last week of August 2017 and left this afternoon wearing her new hull livery and funnel colours of Silversea Expeditions. She was Silversea first cruise liner to enter service and bearing imo 8903923. Below are images of her taken during September, 2017. And below taken during middle October, 2017.
