BUNKER CALL - RoRo GRANDE ANGOLA at Malta - 21.03.2018. On Wednesday 21st March, 2018 the Grimaldi Lines ro/ro ship GRANDE ANGOLA loaded with vehicles entered Valletta (GrandHarbour), Malta for a bunker call by the Valletta Bunkers bunkering tanker SALINA BAY receiving 300 tons of fuel oil since Weather Conditions were extremely bad outside at a Bunkering Area.  (Westerly Force 7). Vessel was on passage from Golcuk, Turkey bound to Sagunto in Spain. The last time the vessel was in Malta was for drydocking at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Dock no 4 back to 2011. FISHING - TN 374 BELKIS DOUNIA  at Malta - 2012. The 2009 built Algerian purse seiner BELKIS DOUNIA   was spotted drydocked at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd Dock 7 on 13th April, 2012 with SIRENA MYRIAM. She was origimally the Turkish built EMIN KAPTAN 2 and  was registered at Tenes with fishing number as TN 375 with 187.08 Gt and 7T2472 as callsign. DRYDOCKING - Ferry RIGEL II at Malta - 06.03.2018. The 1980 built CYP flag ferry RIGEL II  left Valletta (Grand Harbour), Malta from Palumbo Malta Shipyard Dock 4 on Monday 12th March 2018 assisted by 1 local SEA SALVOR with 1 pilot aboard while 1 Pilot was assisting the dock master at the Dock. She was built in Sweden by Oresundsvarvet Landskona as Yard Number 278 launched as VISBY for Rederi AB Gotland. During  1990 the   VISBY was chartered to UK   based ferry operator Sealink British Ferries.   Following a major refit atTilbury, the ferry entered service in March 1990 as the FELICITY.  The FELICITY was renamed STENA FELICITY   in 1991 following the acquisition of Sealink British Ferries by Stena Line.  In 1997 the charter of the STENA FELICITY  ended of which her place on the Fishguard route was taken by another ferry the KONINGIN BEATRIX. Following a refit and rebuild in Germany, the vessel re-entered Gotl...
DRYDOCKING - Supply Vessel GARY ROOK - Nov/Dec 2017 at Malta. The 2012 built USA flag offshore Supply Ship  GARY ROOK  was seen at Valletta (Grand Harbour), Malta at Palumbo Malta Shipyard during November and December 2017. She was built in USA by North American Shipbuilding at Larose, Los Angeles. Her homeport is Galliano, Los Angeles and she's owned by Edison Chouest Offshore, USA.  While at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd the vessel was represented in Malta  by Sullivan Maritime Ltd (http://www.sullivanmaritime.com) Below are images of the vessel drydocked at Dock 6 back to 16th November 2017 - Below are images of the vessel berthed at Bormla Wharf back to 27 th November 2017 - Below are images of the vessel berthed at Parlatorio Wharf back to 2nd December 2017 - And on Saturday 24th February 2018 she passed 25 nautical miles south East off Malta heading to Limassol, Cyprus from Morocco at 2206 hrs local time (2106 UTC)...
TOWAGE - ALICAN DEVAL at Malta. On Thursday 2nd March 2006 the Turkish flag and owned general cargo ship  ALICAN DEVAL   was seen off Valletta, Malta towed by the Italian Flag and owned 1974  tugboat BRUCOLI after she ran aground bound to Malta Shipyards where the mentioned cargo ship was handed over to Tug Malta Ltd local tugs. She was built in 1985 bearing imo 7500578 with former names as KEMAH until March 2003 and TK ANTWERP until 18th April, 2005. DRYDOCKING - Disabled container ship SEASPAN LONCOMILLA - 05.02.2018. The 2009 built HKG flag container ship  SEASPAN LONCOMILLA  towed by the 2009 built offshore tugboat OPAL entered Valletta (Grand Harbour), Malta for Palumbo Malta Shipyard on Monday 5th February 2018.  The containership formerly CSAV LONCOMILLA with imo 9437385 infact still with CSAV funnel colours is owned by Seaspan Shipmanagement, Canada. Her last port of call was Singapore of which she entered 13th December, 2017 after she arrived from Tauranga, New Zealand. The anchor handling vessel OPAL formerly JAYA ACHIEVER until 2009 was at Souda Bay, Crete since 17th January 2018 and responded to vessel SEASPAN LONCOMILLA who had restricted maneuverability and towed her to Malta for repairs at Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd. Since her berth at Parlatorio Wharf was with daylight restrictions, a decision was made that the vessel will proceed inside Harbour, at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves of Va...
